Transforming Partnerships in Education: A Learning Institute for Educators and Parents
Join us on a ten-month journey to strengthen your capacity as a parent and/or educator to collaborate with community members and change norms within our schools and K-12 education system.
Through monthly Saturday sessions, you will learn how to build trusting relationships that lead to reciprocal learning and partnership between parents and educators, identify structural inequities within education, embed community assets through shared decision making and leadership, and assess and change the climate, practices, and policies of our schools and institutions using an equity-based approach.
Topics will include creating a shared vision for our children’s education, addressing institutional racism and implicit bias, assessing and creating a culturally responsive school environment, and cultivating authentic engagement between families and educators.
All institute hours are from 9:30am- 2:30pm
